We purchased this product with standard shipping and it showed up at my door 3 days later. I was really nervous when I saw the bag with a lot of little pieces. Once we started putting it together, it was REALLY easy. We bought it for my son's 2nd birthday and he LOVES it. The quality is spectacular for the price; well worth it.Best Deals for De Rosa DRM316-BU Junior 3 Piece 16 Inch Drum Set with Chair, Blue
Awesome little kit. Not just for kids. Throw a Remo Powerstroke 3 on the kick, a Remo C.S. Reverse Dot on the snare, and get the mini hi-hats w/stand by CB Percussion and you'll have a kit that is suitable for small gigs and which you can ALMOST fit in one bag over your shoulder. The drums have plenty of depth for their size even when playing a single-headed setup. As for the cymbal, it's okay for beginners, or for experimentalists as a stacker. I recommend one of the Pulse or Wuhan splashes. You'll need a lift kit if you want to use an adult size kick pedal, and you'll need new sticks the included ones are softwood and produce a poor tone quality. I recommend the Zildjian Heavy Jazz or any superhard stick like that for these, as you simply will not get a decent cross-stick sound otherwise.
Small gripe: the washer that holds tension on the tom arm's tilter will eventually break, causing the tom to slowly droop onto the bass drum hoop. A regular old cymbal stand washer replaces it (Gibraltar makes one that's thick and slightly dome shaped this worked well for me). Probably not an issue for kids.
Also, since I see a lot of people asking about this online: You will have extra parts left after this is put together, including a spring. These are replacement parts and don't have to be installed I've yet to see where any spring goes, aside from the kick pedal which uses one of a different type.

My son is 19 months and already an avid drummer (his jazz drummer grandpa has been drumming with him since we was a few months old). We decided to get a set for him and the DeRosa set is perfect! It's a great size that will grow with him for a few years. Has replaceable heads if he cracks one. It's actual wood sides with regular adjustment screws like adult drum sets. It was easy to set up (although, I recommend putting it together without the assistance of an eager toddler! haha). And has pretty good sound. (the snare can be a little rattley and vibrates when you hit the tom-tom but I expected a bit of that anyhow).Overall he loves it so far!

Ordered the DRM 316 drumset from Austin Bazaar. Received a DRM 312 drumset ($30 cheaper, for younger children) which didn't even have the right parts in the box needed to assemble it and the instructions provided were a faint photocopy of a one-page, basically useless document. Tried to call Austin Bazaar using the phone number they put on their shipping label, but the number is out of service. Amazon has no record of an address for Austin Bazaar that customers can use to return items. Amazon is now helping me return the item and will be refunding my money. So, wouldn't have been happy with the DRM 312 drumset, even if that is what I had ordered. Would have had to get replacement parts in order to assemble it. The instructions were a waste of the paper they were copied on.
And, wouldn't recommend anyone buying anything from Austin Bazaar. Any company that sends you an inferior and/or different product than what you ordered, provides a contact phone number that's out of service, and doesn't provide an address customers can use to return orders is either very poorly run or a total rip-off or both. Stay away.
