I love how this tambourine looks, and love Plan Toys in general. It's very well made and durable and super sweet. My main complaints are that it's hard to get it to make a nice sound. You have to hold the handle in just the right spot. My 10 month old, who loves his xylophone and maracas has shown zero interest in this so far. Hopefully he will once he's a bit bigger.

I fell in love with this tambourine the moment I held its smooth, wooden handle. Unlike the other toy tambourines I've tried out, the sound this instrument makes is really pleasant. It's light enough that my 18 month old can play it. I think our family will be enjoying this for years to come!

My son loves percussion, he plays on drums, loves his eggs that have rice in them but this one isnʻt his favorite. Adults can use it pretty proficiently but itʻs kind of soft and the sound it makes is a little dull. I wish it was more tinny and louder. Having said that, I give it three stars because it feels "safe" there are no parts that could get into his mouth and choke him and the sides are smooth.

Now in all fairness we did buy this toy a little 'early' by standards of musical toys. Our one year old loves musical toys though and figures most of them out and plays with them a lot. She thought it was great for a few minutes, then has barely touched it since. The noise is muddled and takes a firm shake to create. It's cute and I like that any of the metal parts are hidden, and seems very durable and well made all around too. I like it, but she doesn't so much. Maybe as she gets older.
