I get why other didn't like it, because when you first get it and try to turn the tuning keys, they don't stay in place and it seems like a disaster. Thought I wasted my money and my son was disappointed. But, problem solved: just take a phillips head screwdriver and tighten the screws once you get the string tuned to where you want it, and voila. I wouldn't tighten the keys a little bit and and then try to tune it like a "real" guitar, because it does feel like it might break if you strain the keys -but do it the other way and it's fine (use the keys really loose to tune, tighten only when it's set). My son, who is 3, plays it constantly and not carefully, and the strings sound the same 2 weeks in. We can't retune without loosening the keys, but we haven't had to! It actually sounds great. (Or, as great as a 3 year old can sound playing the guitar). Great starter guitar to make sure your kid actually likes playing before you spend some real money.
