I bought this product at the grocery store on one of those racks that they place near the cash register so that kids can pressure their parents into buying them when you are waiting in line. At first, I was skeptical. Based on the directions on the back of the box, the egg which is wrapped in plastic contains loose dirt that would basically fall apart as soon as you took the wrapper off. Instead, what I found was that the egg was nearly as hard as concrete and it took my soon over one hour with the little plastic pick they provide to pry all the plastic fossil bones out. I gave this product four stars because for kids like my son, who loves dinosaurs and at the age of four says he wants to be a paleontologist when he grows up (yes, he uses the actual word. Thanks Dinosaur Train) got an experience of what he would actually be doing, with the exception that he was working in an air conditioned living room instead of a 110 degree desert. But, once you finally get the thing out and dusted off, it doesn't stick together well, and is about as small as a half dollar, or a name tag. They toy itself would probably be worth 25 cents, but what you are really paying for is the experience.
Maybe if they sold this in bulk, you can use it as a party favor or party activity for a dinosaur party
