After seeing this at the La Brea tar pits museum store our son was dying to have it but we didn't want to have to pack it on the plane home. Found it for about 10 bucks cheaper online. He got it for his fourth bday and we put it together and he can name all the organs/parts of the body. It's pretty amazing. The info about the mammoth is good, too (though obviously written in a foreign language then translated), but they could use an english language proofreader as evidenced by some of the awkward grammar.

The model is well constructed, durable and easy to assemble. It is a superb educational teaching aid for anatomical information on skeletonal construction of terrestrial graviportal vertebrates. It has an artistic design and is professionally displayed.

This was purchased along with the dog as a Christmas gift. Again, this is heavier than I thought it would be and fun to assemble. Packing was pretty much destroyed when it got here but everything was intact within the sliced up box.
Honest reviews on Tedco 4D Vision Woolly Mammoth Anatomy Model
I'm an adult who never outgrew nature models. I love to know what the insides of things look like, but I don't like dissection (if mammoth dissection were even an option for me!), and I don't get as much of a feel for an organism from mere two-dimensional images. So I collect models, especially anatomical models, of animals including extinct ones (I thought the T Rex book/model from the Uncover Books series (Uncover a T. Rex: Take a Three-Dimensional Look Inside a T. Rex! (Uncover Books)) was similarly excellent. This wooly mammoth model is among the best I've come across so far...durable, suitably detailed, easy to put together. The only thing I find to be a draw-back, albeit an amusing one, is that the directions and information are written in that "Chinese language translated into English" style (the model and booklet come from Hong Kong) that leads to awkward, unintentionally funny phrasing. But given the strengths of the model as a model, I say just look for better information in more standard English elsewhere. Among the better DVDs on the topic that I've seen, I can recommend Waking the Baby Mammoth, which like this model is kid-friendly.

First off, it was obvious that the package had been previously opened. The trunk was separated at the end and I couldn't get it to fully attach. The uterus was missing. The clear side of the mammoth was warped and wouldn't even fit correctly onto the other half. Unfortunately, it was an unwrapped gift and my 7 year old was so excited she wanted to play with it, so I didn't get a refund, which I deserved. I wouldn't give it to an older child that was a bit more detailed oriented.
