I bought this kit after reading that some of the cheaper kits either ship with bad components or just don't explain things clearly. I was also compelled by the one other review that mentioned this kit does a good job teaching basic electronics along with how solar electricity is most often harnessed. This kit delivers all of those things. I have always wanted a fun way to learn basic electronics (I'm 25). This kit provides a way to learn basic circuit building while also teaching the science behind photo-voltaic electricity production. I really did not expect to learn so much out of such a basic kit, but the instruction manual really is plush with detailed knowledge. Be prepared to be able to interpret some of the deeper concepts the manual touches on to your child or student. I think this level of depth is a good thing. I would much rather have a kit overflowing with knowledge rather than one that comes up short. The electronics are also great quality. The multimeter is excellent. I plan on keeping the multimeter and either donating the kit to my local Goodwill or a family member. The manual has places for writing down your findings when completing the labs. I recommend omitting writing in the instruction book if you plan to pass it on to someone else when you are done.

Excelent tool for learn about the generation of solar energy and basic concepts of electricity. Instructional Manual is clear and well-done. I used it for introduced students to the most important concept of this technology.
