I own the original Loopin' Louie and love it to death. I wanted to get a back up because it gets so much use. Bobbin' Bee is a clone with some really cool updates to the production. The artwork is cute and well themed, the paddles are a nice touch, and the bee does a lot more flips when hit.

The original Louie has a little better physics going for it. In Bobbin' Bee it is extremely difficult to make a 270 degree shot to knock the person to your left out. I think taping a quarter to the weight end may help. I'll have to experiment.

This is great fun for adults as much as kids because adults are usually better at developing the feel of how hard you need to hit it to force a knock out of your opponents. At late night drink parties this is a real hit. I think one previous reviewer didn't understand that it's not so much about protecting your honeycombs as it is hitting it just right so that your opponents can't defend against a dive bomb.

To play a full game, the winner of each round pulls out a honeycomb and the winner is the person that has only one honeycomb in their rack that doesn't get knocked out. I don't think those rules were included.

All in all it's a great substitute if you can't get the original Loopin' Louie and I'm happy to own both especially at amazon's price.

I bought two of these, one for each grandchild. It looked like so much stuff to put together before playing that I was thinking "Oh no"! But it really goes together fast. It takes AA battery, and I might not have picked this if I had read that, but it was fun to play. The 4-year-old girls could play it together no problem, and the adults played with them too.

It isn't very educational-I can't think of what it teaches kids, except maybe eye hand coordination and learning to play together.

Bobbin' Bumblebee is a reasonable substitute for Loopin' Louie, the game's predecessor. The game is certainly durable enough, as my 3 yr old bangs on the paddles with considerable force without breaking anything. Flipping the bee completely over so that it strikes the opponent to your immediate left (the bee rotates around the hive in a counter clockwise direction) is difficult with this game, but not impossible. The loop in the swing arm seems to throw off the balance, making this maneuver difficult. Unfortunately, this maneuver is essential if the only two remaining players are yourself and the person to your immediate left. Without this move, you have to rely on that player making a mistake. Like I say, it's not impossible to accomplish, but difficult. And evidently much more difficult than the same move in Loopin' Louie. Some have experimented with adding an additional counterweight, to make it easier for the bee to get over the hive.

But seeing as how used copies of Loopin' Louie run anywhere from $75-$100, Bobbin' Bumblebee is a very good substitute and still fun to play for both kids and adults.

Fun game. A little hard for young children. Adults and older children have lots of fun with this game.

I was really excited to get this for my 3 and 6 year old, but after we played it, I was completely disappointed. I guess I really didn't know what to expect, but there are so many better toys out there, for the money, I would stay away from this one.
