I have waited a while to write this review. It's been about ten months since my purchase of this guitar. I have taken a while to get comfortable and understand it. I have a lot of experience with this axe, so here is my analysis

Action:

I will leave the best for last. This guitar has a smooth, narrow neck. The frets can be a little bit harsh while you're sliding. This is DEFINITELY not the best guitar for any kind of shredding or complex fretwork. On the comfort scale, I would probably give fretting a 3/5, but this is easily justified by the price.

Quality:

This guitar is made in Korea, like all other Schecter Diamond Series. That said, this guitar is very solid, and has quite a bit of weight to it. This is not a common trait for Schecter Diamond Series. I personally love the weight distribution. I don't ever play sitting down, so I wouldn't be able to tell you if it balances on my knee, but it feels good while its on a strap. The body is made of alder, and the sunburst looks awesome. This guitar does the tele body style justice, and I prefer this style of pick-guard over that of a genuine Fender. The grover tuners have never failed me, and are very precise. The bridge saddles are very nice. They are very close to the ones on a Fender strat/tele. As a result of that, they are very easy to adjust.

Tone:

Perfect. The coil splitting and three way switch immediately expand the already great sound of the pickups. I bought mine used, and it had a Duncan Designed mini-humbucker in the neck, and an aftermarket Seymour Duncan humbucker (not sure of the model) in the bridge. I don't believe that this is the standard configuration, in fact it might be closer to the Pete Dee pickup configuration. I am particularly impressed with the mini humbucker. If I switch to the neck pickup, I get a deep woody tone that resonates beautifully. Even without any effect, I am able to find a really neat sound that fits in a pocket. If you throw a coat of gloss on top of that (delay, verb, light chorus, a low gain overdrive, etc), you will be golden.

My overall review of this guitar is a 5/5. This guitar may not be perfect, but nothing is. Most of Schecters guitars cost about this much, but most of them are unbearable (unless you are a metalhead or hardcore fan(I'm not)). For the money, this is easily the best guitar you can get. Its extremely classy for a Schecter, and I am proud to own it. If this were stolen or broken beyond repair, I would definitely promptly buy it all over again. I would probably get one with a maple fretboard though.

There you have it, hope this was helpful.

I recently ordered this guitar from Amazon and I've really been blown away by how well made this Schecter is. Not only is it great looking with an awesome sunburst finish, double body binding and mother of pearl blocks on the neck, but the action was almost perfect out of the box. The nut is Graphtec and the tuners are exactly what I would've used if I'd built this guitar from the ground up. Honestly, the only thing I don't love hardware-wise is the bridge, but I'm planning on putting in a Bigsby anyway.

I also own a MIM Telecaster Deluxe and it's a toss-up to say which one is better, though I paid almost twice as much for the Fender. The pickups are much, much brighter and more versatile in the PT Fastback, but I'd say the neck on the Fender is one of the best necks in existence. So if you can catch this PT on sale it's an insane value for the money. Just a really, really well made guitar with zero flaws that I can find. It's nice and heavy, has really good tone and plays really well.

Another thing my first order for this guitar resulted in me getting one with a maple fretboard, which is fine, but not what I wanted. There was a very similar item page for both versions, both showing pictures of a sunburst with a rosewood fretboard. Long story short, the one on this page (rosewood) says "MOP Block Inlay" and the one on the maple fretboard page only says "Block Inlay." Be careful and make sure you're getting the right one.
