I got a lot of good words about my globe. It's spins only when there is bright light or at least medium sun light. It can spin even without pedestal, there is a liquid inside of it. I can confirm that it is purple when it get sun light, but it still looks very good. Now for durability: I had it for over a year it's been dropped, shaken but it still works just fine.

Works as advertised. However, it is made of two separate globes one within the other, floating in a fluid. Doesn't take much light to get it moving as long as its directional. Also, It only looks like silver on black when the light when it is not coming from the rear, otherwise it looks purple and silver.
I have had it for a month now and it hasn't broken, it has been shaken once but never dropped.
On average it seems to rotate at about 1 revolution per 50 sec, but it would appear to be dependent on the amount of provided light.
I would recommend this, if your looking for a tasteful globe that rotates on its own without batteries or wires. In fact the provided base is not necessary.

The product looks much better in person. The globe appears dull in the picture, but it is really encapsulated in glass. So, it is glossy/shiny, which I like. The globe inside the glass also spins beautifully. Try not to be entranced. The stand seemed small and odd at first, but once assembled (which is merely sliding three pegs into the base) and then the globe placed on top, it looked very nice. Although it is a small globe (which is understood from the advertised dimensions), I feel that the print is very defined and easy to read. I can easily see the names of countries on the globe. I would definitely recommend this product to others. It is a good conversation piece as well, so put it where others may enjoy it too.Honest reviews on Mova Globe - Black Metallic
The globe is very handsome and adds a classy touch to a room or office. Everyone who has seen it has complimented its design and is intrigued by its turning without an electric or battery power source. The only knock I'd give it is that the seam located where the Equator would be is not perfect... South America on either side of the seam is lined up perfectly, but Africa is off slightly. It wasn't enough for my boyfriend to allow me to go through the hassle of exchanging it, but given the price I was slightly disappointed in this flaw.
