I used to dabble with the guitar and decided I wanted to get back into it. My dad stopped playing a while ago and gave me his old Austin until I could get a new guitar of my own. I previously owned a Ibanez SZ320, which was also a string through the body design. I wasn't playing it much at the time so I sold it. The Ibanez SZ320 was a fabulous guitar and I was really hoping to get another just like it. Unfortunately they no longer make this model in their current lineup and all the used ones I came across were pretty beat up. My friend owns a Schecter Elite 6 from a few years ago and it was a pretty nice sounding guitar. It was very similar to my Ibanez so I decided to look into them. After doing much research I settled on the Schecter C-1 Standard.

I like this guitar for several reasons. It sounds pretty good to me with the stock pickups and I don't plan on changing them out anytime soon. It can hold some long sustains and so many different styles can be played on it. It can be clean, grungy, heavy, metallic, give you the blues and be jazzy, which makes it super versatile. The neck is a bit wider than my dad's Austin so it makes it's much easier to play. I love the metallic blue color and the styling and finish is gorgeous. It almost make you want to just display it on the wall but it begs to be played!

The default setup for the guitar was a little too high for my liking so I did have it lowered for my playing style. You'll find that with just about any new guitar it needs to be setup for the player. Other than that, there's nothing that I dislike about it. The Schecter C1-standard is an exceptional value and I got it at the right price on a great sale. If you're looking for a guitar that will suit many playing styles than look no further. The Schecter is my new favorite instrument!

I bought this for my son for Christmas. He loves it! It is so different than anything we saw locally in the guitar stores. It sounds great and the color is awesome. Definitely a great purchase!!
