My daughter wanted to do a gel electrophoresis/DNA experiment/display for 8th grade science fair. This product was the perfect size at the right price. She was able to pour 5 gels @ 3" x 5" x~0.3" or 0.4" thick each, with a little less than half the bottle left. The gels let different colored food dyes travel from the wells across the gel as expected, by use of a small bank of 9 volt batteries. The gels were easy to mix and pour and everything worked as expected without any surprises. Not pertinent to the review, but she ended up winning in her grade in her school, and also at the regional science fair. ( Sorry, proud dad here!!! I just had throw that in) :)
If you need to make gels, and don't want to break the bank buying huge quantities of Agarose, then this is the perfect size at a very good price point.
