The lengths of the rods are not regular, rods (of the same color) don't have the same length. That defeat the purpose of the rods in teaching math to kids. The rods are not straight and bent somewhat, making them very hard to line up for visual picture for the kids.

The Cuisenaire Rods were exactly as described. They came in 6 individual stackable containers which was great because this was not expected. The only problem is the lids are not secure and with 5th grade students using them they can be spilled easily. But they were inexpensive for the amount received so we can deal with the containers. I can't believe how well they work in my 6th grade math class. From fractions to geometry they work great.
