These books along w/the Disney Storyreader is the perfect solution for kids who cannot yet read, but love to be read to. I purchased these books for my daughter and she has listened to them so much that she has memorized most of the pages in the books. People actually think she can read and she is only 3 years old!
Books are the best gifts you can give your child and with these, if you're really needing to do some chores around the house, you have a substitute that can kinda take your place and read to your chid! Love these Books!!!

Her favorite of the three books is Beauty and the Beast. She already had the Story Reader machine, so was familiar with how to load, operate and "read" the book. I was very pleased (and somewhat surprised) by the sound quality. She can tell when a word is being used that she doesn't know. Yesterday she asked what does "dim" mean. I think it's great that the whole concept is one that she can do independently--yet ask and involve an adult when she wants help. For us, it is an ideal step up for non-readers, fostering a love of books and getting them ready for learning to read in the coming months. Would definitely recommend it for anyone in a similar situation.

This is the favorite toy of all four of my grandsons, aged 2 to 6. They have no trouble, once shown, placing the cartridges in the reader and also placing the books in the proper places. They sit for hours listening to the stories which are very varied in content. Toy Story 2 and Nemo seem to be their favorites so far. They are starting to follow the words, especially the 6 year old, which will eventually help him read other books and stories. The only problem is that you must find a suitable and safe place to store the cartridges. I think the manufacturer should find some way to include a packet attached if possible with a secure closing method. Without the cartridges, there is no way to hear the stories.
