These are very nice. The wooden number cards are easily handled by young hands and most importantly the counters are made of light wood with gently beveled edges, making them comfortable for small fingers to pick them up and place them in pairs beneath the cards. I am very pleased with these. I bought these for my grandchild who had to leave her Montessori school when her parents moved, and will not enter her new school until next September. I asked her if this toy was fun so that I could answer the rating questions at the beginning of the review. She drew her four year old self to her full height, and said "This is not a toy. This is EQUIPMENT! She enjoys using it and invites us to watch her, so it must be fun for her.Thursday, May 15, 2014
Buy Montessori Cards & Counters
This product is a very good introduction to number concepts for any child two and above. My first concern when I first bought this was the size and the attempt by our grandson to put the red dots into his mouth if he was playing by himself. To date, his curiosity regarding it as a food item has not surfaced but we are watching very carefully. We use this product with him (NOT ALONE) and sit with him throughout each of our short exercises with him. He is able to relate the actual number with the number of red dots and enjoys playing the games we have come up with. As with all toys and products for children, a word of caution and vigilance is extremely important. Needless to say Montessori is well known in educational venues, especially with children but like any other product out there, common sense when using these products is essential.
