Bought the cupcake game for my child's birthday. It's durable (as far as games go) and fun. Teaches following directions, grouping and game play. Don't have to be able to read to play this gamekids can read the pictures. Cute and fun game overall.

My 4 and 6 year old love this game. Nothing to read, so it's easy for both of them. Very cute with its spatula spinner and different flavor cupcake mixing bowls.

I bought this for my 3 1/2 year old because she really wanted the game. However, I think it was a little too complicated for her. The spinner has eight sections: mixing bowl, dry ingredients, rotten egg, frosting, wet ingredients, decoration, flavoring, and cupcake liner. The first thing you have to do is land on a mixing bowl. There are four mixing bowls, and each mixing bowl has a set of six ingredients. Once you get all of the ingredients, you win. It seems pretty simple, but I don't think a few of the items specifically frosting, flavoring, and decoration match up nicely. Even I had to look at the box to make sure I was getting the right ingredient, which is pretty frustrating. I guess I just need to play some more so that I can get used to it. I also bought the Eeboo Tea Party Game, and I think that one was much easier for my daughter to play.

This game does have some pros it's cute and it is sturdy

The real directions have a terrible flaw. To begin collecting your ingredients you must first spin until you get a mixing bowl. My 4 year old was so bummed out because all 3 of the other players completed their cupcake and she never once landed on mixing bowl. A spinner game is just a game of chance and for a little kid it makes it easy to play but this one rule can ruin the game. We changed the rules and everyone gets a mixing bowl to start the game then you have to try to collect the rest of the ingredients.

One of the highlights in the description of the game is that it teaches kids to follow recipes, it doesn't, it just teaches them to collect items. I wasn't expecting it to teach her how to follow a recipe and I'm not knocking the game for that, I just think that point is silly.

I would have given this 1 star but my daughter likes to play with the pieces.

I have no idea how this game gets so many positive ratings. I guess maybe their kid never got stuck not being able to even start the game.

The game is made well, very high quality parts & pieces.

It's fun to play because it's so pretty and almost looks realistic!
