Buy Amaco Claycrete Papier Mache 1 lb. bag
This papier mache mix is very fine, light and absorbent. It makes a clay of very even consistency. Perhaps I should have kneaded it until it was firmer or added less water and worked harder to distribute it. Its absorbency vs the volume of water used meant it took days for my piece to dry. I've used grey celluclay in the past and found it easier to avoid adding too much water. I'll use up the rest of this brand for my molds and see if I can't get a better ratio. If so I'll prob use it again & hopefully not have any more trouble.I guess you have to be really into art to form shapes with these pieces. Ok with mold form--probably not worth the money for me though. Newspaper type paper without ink would be best for me with children.
