I never realized that a blow up globe could be so nice. This globe is larger than I realized. I use it for lecturs on my Arctic, North Pole and Siberian Expeditions and Global Warming. It takes quite a few breaths to fill it up so I only let a little air out when I transport it. But it is fantastic for the kids to look at as I do my talks. It looks just great and it looks like the real earth without any clouds. The map of Siberia is not correct, but neither are any of my other hard shell globes. Even the map library at our local University doesn't have accurate maps, but strangely enough, Microsoft Flight Simulator does have accurate maps showing Khatanga, the city which has the famous Woolly Mammoth.

One review said that this globe was junk because the kids kicked it around a few times and it broke. Well, this product was not meant to be a beach ball, it is a globe for educational use and it is very good for this purpose. I highly recommend this. 2005 North Pole Expedition Leader. C. Jeff Dyrek

With all the news about the Middle East and former Soviet republics, a standard 12" globe is just not big enough. This globe is enormous and the printing is far better than expected. Replogle is a well-respected manufacturer and they uphold their reputation with this product. It gives resolution that is impossible on a smaller globe and it shows the true relative sizes of the continents/countries so much better than flat maps. For example, Africa is way bigger than one sees on flat maps, and Greenland is much smaller. One often hears that Russia has 11 time zones, but that's because it's all north of Boston, where the meridians are closer together. At half the price of a quality 12" hard globe, this is a real bargain and fun to toss around as well. One of those purchases that really delights.

I used this inflatable topographical globe for VBS to show my kids where we live on the planet and where other places are relative to N. America. They were all 7-year-olds, and they loved it, having been introduced to geography in First Grade. Its size (27") and deep colors made it an eye-catcher as well as easy to see by a large group of kids. It's made of a heavy-weight vinyl, so I think it will serve me well for some years to come.

Comes fixed with a rubber loop to mount from above to give a 23 degree tilt. Good product a bit expensive.

Ah, this is a nice globe that helped my 4 year old daughter get excited about world geography. We find and point out where we are from and where everyone we know is from. It is essentially a beach ball. It will probably break if it is climbed on, just like a beach ball. It says it has bumps for the topography, but it does not. It shows where deserts are. Mine looks exactly like the one in the picture. The north and south poles are a little screwed up due to the beach ball construction, but everything else is pretty perfect. It has the names of oceans, continents, and countries.

Couldn't be better! I would recommend it for home geography enrichment or even the classroom, but you may have to buy more for the classroom.
