Being a Disney Princess enthusiast, I thought my 3-year old daughter would love this for Christmas 2011. Boy was I wrong. It lasted a few minutes, then, for the past few months, I have found the insert cards all over the house, despite my best efforts to keep them intact with the touch pad mechanism.Basically, the "castle" is a touch-pad, and behind it, are several different cards you place over the touch pad for different games, learning opportunities, etc. Some children might definitely find it interesting. I was so hoping my daughter would, because I found it to be rather cute. But, now that I am experiencing her younger brother being the age of 3, just be aware of what seems to be typical of this age. Any toy with multiple parts, papers, slides, WHATEVER, will be at risk of having proverbial feet and walking all over the place. Children can be taught, but the risk of this remains. And, the chances of them using it in other creative ways (the cards were imaginary grocery receipts during store play one day) is there too, which is not necessarily bad. Spend a little extra and get Fisher-Price iXL 6-in-1 Learning System (Pink)with the Disney Princess game or something like unto it. Your little princess will stay engaged longer, and you won't have to worry about missing game pieces.

We have two kids aged 2 and 5, so thought this would be good for both of them to share. The plus points to this, it's pretty sturdy and won't fall apart and it's very easy to use, both kids are able to play with it.
What's not so good, the cards are fairly flimsy and the holder in the back is very flimsy, so the cards keep falling out as the clip just doesn't hold them in place and the cards get folded up pretty easily.
The batteries also don't last very long, always seem to be replacing them for this thing which is a bit of a chore and the most annoying thing is the volume. There is a couple volume settings, but that just means it's either really loud or just obnoxiously loud.
