I got these for my grandson for Christmas. He and my granddaughter both enjoy them, as well as the rest of the family. They are very solid with a strong magnetic force....endless possibilities for creativeness! I will definitely add to his collection!

The good: My son loved this toy. He played with it for hours on end and the best part is that he used his imagination. He built skyscrapers, bridges, and even a car wash. The bad: Absolutely nothing. This is such a wonderful toy and I can't recommend it enough.

Best Deals for Geomag Kids Panels - 74 pieces

Having tried a number of the various Mag products available, these were essentially not compatible with the others. Not a big surprise, most of them don't work great with each other, you make it work as best as you can. This set however comes with panels as well, and in comparison to the Magnetix line, with the panels having the magnets built right in, this set had light, flimsy panels with had to sit in the frame created by the bars and balls. This by itself strongly limited what you could do with several of the pieces. My children have a metal bunk bed and we used to attach the pieces together building odd hanging forts from the top bunk while sitting on the lower, tons of fun, and from there we could bring in smaller action figures to inhabit the forts. This was just plain not a possibility with these, and any amount of slight rougher play would cause the panel to fall out. I suppose you could play along with it and make it part of the antics based fun, but in the future, if I want panels, I'll go with the Magnetix, as this set is about half unusable. (Bars still work fine to hang the the forts from, and are a good deal longer then the average bar length, but the magnets are only about half as strong as some older GeoMag products we have, possibly mandated for safety reasons.)
