The first part, mixing the clay and pouring it in the molds, requires a little adult supervision. Then there is the wait: Are they set yet, mom? Once they are ready, the kids can paint them all by themselves, and they have lots of fun doing it. It is a good thing that there is enough clay to make two rounds of dinosaurs, so that they can repeat the experience at a later date. There are also fish and fairies and other themes. I find this little toy affordable, creative and highly entertaining, even for moms and dads!

I bought this for an eight year old boy. He took on vacation with him, and had a blast making them with his sister and mom. He loved painting and creating his own dinosaurs. Great gift, not very hard to do.
