This toy is a lot of fun especially if your child is a ham. My daughter fell in love with it when she received it for her 5th birthday. She is very careful with her toys and so she was heart-broken when on the second day of playing with this toy it became stuck repeating one phrase over and over again. It had to go in the trash.

This is the only toy that my 22 month old son refuses to go to bed without. He'll lay in bed and play with the microphone until he falls asleep. In response to some of the other reviews that refer to the microphone getting stuck and repeating phrases this means that the batteries are low and need to be replaced. Once the batteries are replaced the microphone works like new.

My 3 yr old son got this for his birthday and I think I've never seen him so excited! He has spent months asking us to "introduce" him by saying, "Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, presenting..." and then clapping for him. He used a toy hammer for the longest time to sing different songs.

The microphone has children's voices introducing "our new star" and applauding after each song (there are 4 song settings and one make-your-own-song setting).

He'll get this in time, but right now he is frustrated with the recording mechanism. You have to hold the blue button as long as you are recording and he can't seem to remember to hold the button and sing at the same time. But, he doesn't want me to hold the button. I wish they would have made it to where you can push the button and it automatically records for 10 to 30 seconds.

Other than that, this is his favorite toy right now.
