I had this as a kid -and I still have it now, at 28! It was so much fun back then that I can't part with it. Besides Lego, this was my other favourite toy!

This is an excellent learning toy! I got this when i was ~12 or so, it replaced my "101 in 1" (also purchased from radioshack) that I had outgrown. I had so much fun with this kit and its EXCELLENT manual. When it comes to these educational toys the manual is really *ALL* that matters. If it isn't colorful and playful skip it!

Now that I have kids of my own I can't wait to dust this off and let them play with it. I'll need to replace a few items first, blowing LEDs is just kinda what you do when learning electronics.

Later on you'll want to get them a DMM (multimeter) and breadboards/bench powersupplies/soldering irons/oh my!. But this little kit will keep them busy enough for now!

This is the second Elenco kit I've had in my life. Very excellent, well written lessons in a big book comes with this kit. This kit takes you through the basics of electronics and takes you to an intermediate level of understanding. I would highly recommend.

I, too, had the Radio Shack-branded version of this as a kid, and love it. I'm very happy to see it's still available for today's kids who might be interested in electronics. I still have my version, and plan on using it with my boys when they become old enough.

This is well worth the money, folks. I think this was around $50 in 1982 or so, so it's probably even cheaper (after inflation) than it was when I got it...
