The day the InnoTab 3s (in pink of course) arrived my children immediately wanted it set up for their use. For some families that may be a problem, but for the most part they handled all the set up on their own. All I had to do was hook it up to the computer to get the learning, and the learning center started.
First, here's what mom likes. I like that they are entertained and learning, that they aren't using my iPad and that there are so many apps and games and music and videos and books and fun things for them to do. I like that I get notices when they get high scores and that I don't have to carry little cartridges around everywhere because I just download whatever we plan on using. I LOVE that it is a rechargeable battery on ours and that it seems to last longer (or maybe uses less energy in the InnoTab 2?). And, yes it's already been dropped, at least once and it's still running. The stand is pretty handy, because if watching a video they can both view it and no fighting over who is going to hold it. Last but not least, I can add everything we bought for the InnoTab 2 to the InnoTab 3s.
The kids love everything about it. They enjoy the games, videos, books and apps. A few of their favorite things is the new camera and video, as well as the photo editing tools. They have created some amazing and funny things for us all to enjoy. They also like the calendar app so they know where we are going and what we are doing, the like seeing their own scheduled on there. The variety is exceptional and everything is at the touch of a button (or keyboard or screen as the case may be). They can personalize it, so no fighting over "That's mine!"
I'm definitely impressed with the improvements made and so are the kids. Great learning tool and a chance for them to keep growing their gadget girl skills.

Setup was simple with this. Just like the previous you must install the Learning Lodge Navigator. This is where you'll go to download over 600 educational apps including games, e Reader books, music, videos and more and track your child's progress. There are 20 fun onboard apps including games, reading, art, 2.0mp 180 degree rotating camera & video recorder and an array of other things such as a calculator, calendar, and more. Has My Magic Beanstalk game, a game to checkout daily to grow beans. Also included is the read, play & create cartridge which has What's That Noise book, H2O Go! Game and Color & Pop creativity art studio.
Includes 4 GB of internal memory though you can expand to 32 GB with a micro SD card, sold separately. It is simple to navigate on the home screen by pressing left or right with the stylus on the screen. The 3S now includes the d-pad for navigation.
VTech has listened to consumers, this includes rechargeable batteries that charge by plugging in with the included AC adapter!
Wi-Fi Capabilities no your child will not be able to go on Youtube, Netflix or browse where ever they want. Through the settings on the InnoTab and in the parents area you are able to connect via wi-fi. The kid-friendly web browser has installed areas for children to browse such as Sports Illustrated Kids, Time for Kids & Web Weather for Kids. The browser is a bit slow and most children will probably not use this area, but it is nice to have for children to check out safe areas via the safe web browser.
Kid Connect: Be sure to install Kid Connect when you register then on your iOS or Android device download the free VTech Kid Connect app. Once installed you and your child will be able to send text! When Kid Connect is opened child can receive or send messages to the device that has the installed app. Includes fun stickers props as well!
Seems very durable. Large easy to read 5 inch color touch screen and two styluses with a strap to attach
Best Deals for VTech InnoTab 3S The Wi-Fi Learning Tablet, Pink
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I've purchased my daughter the VTech Reader and the InnTab 2S in the past. I do have to say that VTech must be taking feedback from customers and getting the small things right.PROS:
It comes with two styluses. And as if the spare isn't enough, it comes with a string so you can attach the stylus to the InnoTab. There's a slot to insert the stylus so that it doesn't flop around all over the place. (Fingers work well on the touch screen, also.)
There's no need to worry about batteries. It comes with rechargeable batteries and an adapter. The adapter enables your child to use the Innotab without batteries. You can also use 4 AA batteries.
Cartridges purchased for the Innotab 2S also work with the 3S.
Though this won't fool your child into thinking they've got an adult tablet, it does satisfy and is durable. I still have the VTech Reader from a couple of years back and the Innotab 2S from earlier this year and they both still work.
CONS:
You're going to need to connect to the VTech Learning Lodge before your child can use any of the included apps. I had it previously installed but it still took about ten minutes for updates to the software. You'll want to have this done before giving it to your child since the tablet will be useless until it's done.
Photos taken with the tablet tend to turn out dark as there's no flash.
OF NOTE: This version doesn't have the prop on the back to hold it upright like the last version. My daughter never used that anyway so I didn't list the loss as a con.
4.5 STARS: I wanted to compare the apps from the 2S to the 3S but was unable to examine it for long without my daughter snatching it out of my hands. Most seemed similar to what was there before. I did notice there was an e-reader app listed instead of the previous backpack. With this version, you can use Kid Connect to send messages to your child. You have to download software to your mobile device to do so. I haven't found a reason to use this feature, but it might be more useful to others. If you haven't purchased one of these tablets before, I think this is a great buy. However, if you have the InnoTab 2S, the changes aren't that significant. The screen size is the same. The external buttons and the icons have moved around but operation of the device is pretty much the same.
Honest reviews on VTech InnoTab 3S The Wi-Fi Learning Tablet, Pink
Bought for my Granddaughter, thinking we could get on the web to play some of her favorite games. This is not capable of using any of the games from her favorite websites. Can't download any flashplayer needed to play. Should have bought the cheaper version!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for VTech InnoTab 3S The Wi-Fi Learning Tablet, Pink
Anyway my only intention is to save you some heartache and dollars.I am upset that this company wasted plastic to make this. This thing is a bonafide scam.
If this thing were free I still wouldn't subject my kids to using it.
It's not free and way more money then other quality products!
Cons in order from worst:
1. SLOW!!!
2. Functionality and $$$$ for content!
3. Screen resolution is horrible!
4. You have to create an account with vtech to download apps to it via a USB cord.
5. WIFI connection is SLOW
6. Camera is horrible. Like 1998 webcam horrible!
7. Guy voice telling you what you're doing is creepy.
8. SLOW!!!!
You should not buy this! Save the extra money that they will charge you to buy games and buy a Nexus 7.
My 2 and 4 year old play on a Nexus 7 with 100s of free games.
UPDATE 10-24-2013
Cannot believe the number of 5 stars for this. People are clueless or this is a scam.
Saying that their 5 and 8 year olds actually play with this??? If someone has $87 to spend on a children's tablet that offers next to nothing out of the box and charges you upwards or $35 a game, they can most certainly spend $100 more and buy a Nexus 7.
If you do buy it after reading this then you get what you deserve and will return it or you are so detached from reality and knowledge of better products (tablet-wise). To be clear this was a gift for our kids, I would not have purchase it myself.
Also to people that say the Nexus 7 is not a children's tablet, I bought one for my 2 and 4 year old and they both play it as long as they are allowed and haven't damaged it at all. I have a case for it and it does occasionally get dropped but there's not a scratch on it after 4 months of use. And the total amount of money I have spent for content is about 3 dollars.
