I am currently learning about electronics and needed a power supply for future projects and this was perfect since I wanted something that I could put together. Initially I was disappointed because the transformer was bad, but I contacted Elenco and they quickly sent me a replacement. Overall I am very satisfied and would recommend this product.

I was looking for a simple electronics project to work with and this was perfect for what I needed. The instructions were clear. It took maybe an hour to put together. I'm very happy with the results.

A tiny negative is that the kit was supposed to come with its own solder and Elenco enclosed a note saying that it no longer provided solder with the kit.

Other than that, it was a great product.

this was the first soldering project i ever did. pretty straight forward directions and the end result works well.

i didnt understand what the "kit" was about before i received it. basically its got a several page instruction manual that goes through the basics of how to put it together as well as the fundamentals of the physics behind how it works. dont know how much value that has for everyone, but i enjoyed it.

It came very promptly and it was fun putting it together. I checked out the voltage with a meter and the power range was as advertised. I was going to use it for a battery powered radio so I plugged it into the wall socket, turned it on and was checking voltage before attaching and it started to get very hot, so I turned it off, unplugged it and put it in a drawer. I haven't checked it since, but it could be a bad solder joint. I plan to check the soldering.
