Here is a video of my daughter playing with this toy so you can hear what it sounds like. We got this for her when she was three months old and at the time she couldn't spin it herself but she calmed down every time we played it for her. She is 8 months old now and it is still one of her favorite toys. If I take it away from her, she cries. Keeps her occupied while I'm cleaning the house! (I tried to upload it but it wasn't a supported format so here is a link to the website where I have uploaded it)Pros: calming, engaging, and cute

Cons: the only thing I can think of is that my roommate said he had a nightmare about it once :) also there is a little heart on it and if you hold it down then it does not sing anymore, you have to push and hold it again to get it to sing again. my daughter does accidentally push this button sometimes but it's very easy to just walk over and fix it for her

I bought this because I've collected elephants for years, and my 6 month old daughter's name is Ella, so it seemed perfect! And for that reason it is, but as for education, it seems more like a toy that would educate an older toddler, 3 year olds maybe, with songs like "I can hear (chirping sounds) with my..." and the child would finish the sentence with "ears." The voice is stuffy (same voice as "Snuffy" from Jay Jay the Jet Plane videos...) but that's expected, it's an elephant, it should sound stuffy. But it doesn't sound dumb at all, just a little boyish, which is annoying because Ella is a girl's name. The heart button only stays on as a night light while you hold it, I thought it stayed on for 5 mins or so after pushing it. Overall, it's really cute, not dumb sounding, has a few songs and a push-only light and is small enough for an infant to enjoy but just large enough that she could have it for 2-3 more years before she grows out of it.

She played with this so much that she wore the batteries out. Loved the fact that it was easy enough for her to understand how to play this just by spinning the wheel. Great toy for that age.

This is a great toy for baby. The spinning stomach plays music when you spin it and the elephant sings songs. There are daytime and nighttime songs. The heart is a button you can push for light, so it acts as kind of a night light, too. However, it makes noise every time you spin the stomach, even by accident, so it's kind of annoying. Also, even on the quietest sound setting it's still pretty loud. I bumped it one night when I went to check on my baby while she was sleeping and it woke her up. Lesson learned: don't keep it in the nursery! Baby loves this, and enjoys playing with it daily, but if I have to hear the "I am an elephant" song it sings one more time this week, it might just disappear. The batteries are hard to get to, so I can guarantee they won't be replaced when they run out.
