My two year old is interested in numbers lately and he loves his new puzzle, I love it too. I am sad that it does not come in a wooden tray like some of the other M&D toys, a new way to cut cost ? I might have to find a new container for it after a while.

Like all my other Melissa & Doug toys and educational tools, I cannot fault the design of the actual boards or pieces. It is an easy way to teach numbers, colours and shapes to my two year without her knowing that she is being taught to. A lot of fun that she requests almost every time she sees it so it makes my life a lot easier trying to sneak in some teaching time throughout the day.

I have deducted one star for the packaging. I could have forgiven it coming in a cardboard box rather than the usual M & D quality wooden boxes, but I could not forgive the fact that there was no lid on the box. Once you open the package by cutting the sealed plastic it is just an open box. With all the pieces associated with it, this means that there is a high likelihood of them being lost over time and you are not just able to close it up and tidy it into a toy box. A simple plastic or cardboard lid would solve this for not much extra cost to the manufacturer.

Being a well respected brand, I was disappointed in the poor packaging of this product. Once you take off the plastic wrapping the buttons and numbers are loose and could easily be lost.

This is a great way to learn shapes, numbers, and colors. My son just started becoming really interested in numbers and he loves this so much that he will ask to play with it. Visually it's very bright and fun, so he loves it.

I love that there are enough shapes for a few extra if you lose some. Just don't lose any hearts or diamonds because you'll be out of luck. There are even enough shapes to do the first five all at once before dumping them out and turning them over to do 6 through 10.

The box, as others have said, is only cardboard and won't last forever. I usually expect better from Melissa and Doug, but so far it's staying together.
