A year ago I bought the MK121 Velleman Classic TV Pong game, and was disappointed with the game playit worked, but it was almost impossible to use due to the awkward up/down button controls and excessively fast ball movement even on the lowest skill level. An experienced gamer and I struggled to even get a volley going.

This kit MK191 is VASTLY improved. The proportional analog knob type controllers make game play much more pleasant, the speed of the "ball" is good on the lowest level and faster options are available for more skilled players. Also, having both controllers separate from the main PCB (unlike the MK121) lets you stretch out a bit.

Assembly was straightforward for someone accustomed to building kits from discrete components. I wouldn't recommend it to a beginner who can't ID components by themselvesthere are rough step by step instructions, but you really need to have a basic grasp of what resistors, capacitors and semiconductors look like and how to orient them on the board. My five year old helped "stuff" the PCB (he's getting pretty good at it) and I did the soldering. Worked fine on the first try.

There was a minor error in the instructions where a 22pf capacitor was listed as having a "103" code on it. An inexperienced builder might be confused by this.
