We bought two of these terra cotta warrior excavation kits as part of our homeschool study of China. I was worried that they may be flimsy or too easily excavated, but we found that the quality was good and the challenge level was just about perfect for my 8-and 10-year-olds. The last bits of the plaster were a bit of a challenge to remove from the crevices of the warrior even with water, but in the end, they looked great and they turned out to be a perfect complement to our studies.
