I have a bunch of these, geography, instruments, solar system etc. but given a choice, this is the one my four-year-old son pulls from the stack to use. This surprised me a little, because compared to the others, it's really densely populated with words and has only a few pictures. But every morning he says, "Mommy, read me this one" and points to a block of text, then plays at predicting the weather. Sometimes he's predicting the weather for the planets on the solar system placemat.

These mats are great for provoking educational conversation and promoting effortless learning.

I bought this placemat along with several others to periodically rotate between my kids. If they're in a quiet mood or are the last slow eaters left at the table, they often end up staring at the different parts of the placemat. Makes learning seamless and part of their daily living! I think this one is one of their favorites because there's so much to look at (my wife thinks it's a bit too busy to have laying out all the time) The placemat seems as well made as could be for a plastic placemat and I expect to hold up for a long time.

The placemat is very sturdy and seems able to withstand liquid spills on it due to its laminant. Good vibrant colors and pictures. The only downfall I see is that some of the printing is very small making it hard to read.

I purchased this for My grand son who is interested in weather. It is for a chanukkah gift, so He does not have it yet. But both sides have a lot of information, so I am very pleased with it.

our kids really like these themed place mats.

Based on the fact that they sit down to eat a couple of times every day they have a look at these sets, which is a basic way of memorizing things (repetition).

Since we have several of these we went to hanging those not at the talbe in line at the wall in their play room.

With the b/w blanc backside they can see how much they know, which they do occasionally (specifically for the geography sets)
