While this mini trumpet looks great, the vibrating membrane is extremely delicate and the sound produced is inferior to other kazoos I've played. If you are a kid in a parade, have fun with this-but if you are in a jug band and want to make some real noise, look elsewhere. This one, Kazoobie Wazoo Kazoo, is a lot more sound for a lot less money-and a lot more durable, too.

My 2 yo old son was obsessed with marching bands. What's a mom to do, he can't play the trumpet yet. Or can he? This little kazoo trumpet has been a great toy for him. He figured out how to work it right away and happily starting marching around the house with it. He slept with it for about a month. Now it lives with the other musical instruments in a toybox and still comes out a few times a week. It's even held up pretty well. One of the fake valves/keys fell off, but he couldn't care less.

Denny plays one of these on "Boston Legal." I'm a Floridian who know owns one and am dying to dress in an alligator suit and be Louis from "The Princess and the Frog." Playing a trumpet is a good feeling for a non musician. Love that kazoo sound.

This item is very cheeply made and doesn't even make much of a noise. It is very hard for even an adult to make a tiny noise come out, so a child will be frustrated.
