These are so fun -especially when you realize that these are REAL 2-liter soda bottles, just waiting to be warmed, inflated and molded! In this form, they are only about 5-inches long and 1-inch across. Any lost lids can be replaced with soda lids. And the test tubes are unbreakable!(When you buy from LoveThose Books, there are ten in a set. I don't know how many the other sellers include in a set.)
I found these years AFTER organizing a science party for my son's birthday. We could have used them for a project (perhaps something edible?), and then let the kids take the test tubes home as party favors! There are many fun activities you can do with these, and they are good bathtub or pool toys as well.
I have used them in science class, allowing students to use magnifying glasses to examine earthworms I had placed in the tubes, with less screaming from (a few of) the girls and less risk to the worms. The activity guide lists a lot of other ideas how they can be used. Great for science teachers!

My 11 year old daughter has had so much fun with these. They are sturdy, and can take a lot of abuse without breaking. Highly recommended! My grandson loves doing science experiments. These soda bottles work great for doing small experiments. His grandpa made him a little stand to hold them up.
