The skull is the most complex bone in the body and I had been feeling difficulty to understand the structure, in particular the nasal cavity, the paranasal spaces, the skull base and the foramina. The palatine bones and the sphenoid bone are also complex. I read many books about anatomy but the effort was unsatisfactory. Finally I thought getting a skull model would be the best way to understand it. Because I wanted to see each bone and inside the paranasal spaces, I bought this one. My decision was right. This model is very helpful in understanding the anatomy. Every bone are easy to assemble and dissemble and I find no frustration in doing so. I have just bought it so I can not judge if it is tough or not but until now I have no trouble.
Of course this model is not perfect. For example, this model does not have basic structures such as carotid canals. If you want a very realistic model this would be a bit unsatisfying.
Half a year ago, this item could not be shipped overseas. Now international shipping is available for this item and I appreciate Amazon's service.
On amazon japan, this item costs 800USD, more than double the price on amazon com. It is amazing!!!

The detail level of this skull was excellent. Not a bump, nook or cranny overlooked. That said, it is nice to look at but you can't play with it. It comes (falls) apart extremely easy. The fasteners aren't adequate for its purpose. The entire skull basically crumbles in your hands if any one piece is removed, rendering it useless to use as a study aid. The facial bones also do not come together well, leaving gaps and overlaps where there shouldn't be. Too difficult to use as a study aid.
