These tornado tubes are a fun way to teach kids about forces of nature. They're really simple to usescrew two 2 liter bottles together with these after filling them partially with water. I always preferred to put some food coloring in just to make it look more interesting. I love that it includes a booklet explaining the scientific principles at work. For added entertainment throw a monopoly house in there!

We used ours to make an hour glass. My kids like to watch the sand go through. It seems to calm them and keep their interest for a long time.

It took me a few tries to find bottles that would not leak. I was about to use hot glue on the threads to make sure that it was sealed when I finally found a bottle that would not leak. This toy does sit around a lot, but when my daughter decides to play with it, she is always fascinated by it, and it provokes her to ask questions about how it work. Great buy!

This review is coming after watching a nine year old enjoy the product.

Placing the caps together was a little difficult and adult help was warranted. There was water coming from the bottles, even when the caps were closed up tightly. Once the caps were placed together, and the bottles were turned, it took a long time to actually see the vortex. After utilizing this one time, the fun was done.

I don't think it's suitable for younger children. It may be difficult to hold their interest.

As simple as this little experiment is it has been proven to be a fun one! My kids and I can't walk past it without giving it a little spin! Delivered quickly and on time. My only complaint is I bought 2 more from my local craft store for what I paid for this one with shipping.
