I chose this globe for the mellow colors, size, and wood base.
It was exactly what we were looking for. It's nice, the meridian is aligned (unlike with other brands of globes, per comments I read about other globes), and the wood base means it looks nice in a home.
A globe is a cool gift. It's fun to look at places you've been and see where they are in the world in 3-D for a change.
