My son picked this out from a national park gift shop. I am always hesistant to buy science kits without seeing a review, but he was determined to have this one. I was pleasantly surprised. The contents are nothing special: a pop gun of sorts that uses air pressure to shoot foam darts, a couple of ping pong balls, balloons, a syringe and some styrofoam peanuts. The experiments themselves are simple. Watch the styrofoam compress inside the syringe as you push the plunger down. Crush a ping pong ball and then "pop" it back into shape in hot water. Fill (your own) bottle with hot water, empty it, put a balloon over the top, then plunge into ice water, and watch the balloon inflate INSIDE the bottle. (The "WOW" factor of this one was worth the price of the kit.) In short, you could do all of these yourself without purchasing the kit, but would you have thought of them? My 6 year old twins had a blast, and really thought about what air pressure means. If you have the time to research experiments and collect supplies, don't buy it. But if time is precious, it's all there in the box.
