I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband and his male friends. They had an absolute blast putting this together!
I would NOT recommend this for young children. My husband had to make some modifications, as the joints didn't all line up. And the little ball of clay they give you as a projectile has a tendency to fall apart and leave little bits behind.

My son purchased this with his own money and he said it was "well worth it!" I watched him put this together not too difficult, but it took time and patience and he loved it. This is right up his alley because he loves building, creating, thinking. Now, he shows his friends what he built and they all play with it and tell him how "cool" it is.Best Deals for Pathfinders Medieval Trebuchet Wooden Kit
I had this bad boy on my wish list for 2 years and it finally showed up under the tree. This siege engine is the perfect addition to your office arsenal. Last year I received a catapult which was a giant disappointment when compared to this item. Initially I was excited to open the trebuchet, until I realized it couldn't be played with straight away. After 2 years of waiting, I could deal with a few more hours of assembly.Pros:
Perfect scale for office warfare (suggest 2 feet of cleared/level desk space)
Reaches co-workers up to 30 feet away (with appropriate counter and projectile weight)
Repeatable accuracy (with projectiles of same size/weight)
Wood glue included in kit
Cons:
Difficult to shoot non-clay projectiles
Batteries not included (Uses 30 AA batteries to create enough counter weight to reach distances reported earlier in this review)
Made of wood (Suggest using steel or aluminium in future editions)
Dowels were not pre-cut (I destroyed 3 pairs of scissors following these directions)
Throwing distance is limited by counter weight box size Any more weight and the wood will surely snap (see earlier statement about using steel or aluminum)
Pro-Tip: Tie a temporary loop knot on both sides of the string attached to the sling (shortening it by half) and load a small BB sized piece of clay. You will find it fires MUCH faster and more directly at the target. Warning: "You'll shoot your eye out, kid!"
All in all, the number of customization's are endless and it is a lot of fun!
