I brought this for my grandson who is 3 yrs. old at the time he was 2yrs. He loves to beat on anything he can so this was a good idea. He cannot stop playing it once he starts. He loves it. The volume control is a plus, so you can watch TV while the kids enjoy their drum. Good buy for the family.

I think this is an extremely clever toy that my 13 year-old daughter loves. It's a terrific and inexpensive way to get a child interested in making their own music. I only wish I had thought of it.
