Since Alphie is Discontinued I bought the additional packs for letters and numbers. Well Alphie doesnt read them at all.. Some quirk with Alphie design. I called Playschool and they rectified the problem but I would advise everyone not to buy the additional packets because they wont work.

My son just received Alphie for his 3rd birthday yesterday and was super excited. We were not excited, however, to discover that none of the booster cards are working. I called Hasbro to address the issue, and they told me that they discontinued Alphie over 2 years ago, and that the only thing they could recommend was to return the booster cards for a refund. This is very sad because I would have never bought Alphie if I would have known none of the booster cards were going to work. This toy's life cycle just went from a few years to a few months. Once my son is finished with the stock cards that Alphie came with, he'll be done with him :(

I bought this as a gift for my god son. He seems to enjoy reading and learning with it. I figured anything that is educational and fun but not way over priced like a lot of childrens educational toys is a good thing.
