Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I have a 3 year old autistic boy who is big into handheld button toys. Some of his favorites are these: The LeapFrog Chat and Count Phone, The LeapFrog Text and Learn, The LeapFrog My Own Leaptop, and The LeapFrog My Own Story Time Pad. He loves these toys, not to mention his iPod Touch. I'm sure you can see a common theme with those favorites of his.

Over time, I've tried more traditional toys like the good old Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Corn Popper Push Toy, and he showed no interest in them. So when this Tootle Turtle Mower came up on Amazon Vine, I rolled the dice and got it. I just assumed he wouldn't bother with it at all like he hasn't bothered with other similar toys. I was wrong. He seems to love it. I was quite taken by the fact that he pushes it around in a very similar fashion that one would push a real lawnmower. I think the big key here is that it makes a noise when you push it. There's also a couple of knobs and switches on the handle that he moves around. He's sort of figured out you can open the lid and put things inside, which is good, that kind of thing is a skill he's just starting to develop now.

Given my son is autistic, there's no discernible (to me anyway) imaginative play with the toy. However, just the fact that he plays with this is awesome to me. so I have to say I'm exceedingly pleased that my son plays with this, because he has never shown an interest in this kind of toy up to this point.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This mower is pretty much a run-of-the-mill plastic toy. The best part is that the child can make noise in 4 different ways (wheels, starter, and 2 clickers on the handle). The noise is not loud or annoying which is good for adults in proximity.

The main negative is that the mower has only about 1-2" of ground clearance so it is more of an indoor toy than something a child can push around outside on grass. It works fine on hard surfaces or carpet. This toy would have made more sense if it had big wheels and lots of ground clearance so a child can actually use it on grass as a pretend mower.

My 2 1/2 year old has been really interested in outdoor appliances lately, so I thought he'd have a lot of fun with a lawnmower. I picked this one specifically because I've had good luck with Melissa & Doug in the past, and I thought it was much cuter than other comparable options. It might be a tiny bit expensive for being a large piece of plastic (and not necessarily the MOST durable plastic, but it's probably durable enough for a toddler, which is at least saying something), but my son has enjoyed this toy so thoroughly that I'd say it was more than worth it.

Wonderful fun for our 2 year old grandson. He loves it and uses it all the time.

He mows the carpet, the floor, etc, etc.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Once the baby gets to where he can pull up and toddle a bit this is the toy for him! The baby walks along behind and enjoys "mowing" the carpet. Once he got a bit older, like 2, he loved to take this outside with dad and mow the yard. Loves pulling the cord and pretend filling the tank.

Great toy, good construction (albeit plastic and will probably crack someday but good for now). Lots of fun for the money.
