We bought this with a magnetic easel board for our daughter as she learns to spell more words. The size of the letters are good and the strength of the magnets are more than enough. The lower case letters sold separately were simply not as nice. The spacing and location of the letters are not in the same place and the quality varied from letter to letter. Past reviewers noted something similar and I totally agree. I love having 3 of every letter by the way. The only real negative is that picking up the letters is hard. I tried using a magnet wand and it does not pick up the letters unless the magnet side is facing you. When you kid dumps every letter out getting them all back in one place is a little time consuming. Would have been nice if the letters came in a zip lock pouch.

These work great on a cookie sheet! Or have simple words already made, place the paper on the cookie sheet, and put the magnetic letters over the word or under it...
