They try to pass this off like a science educational thing. I wouldn't go that far. There is a project dealing with SPF, but that's as scientific as it gets. It is a good lip gloss making kit though.

I bought this to do with my 5 and 10 year old daughters. They had a blast getting to be chemists and make their own lip balm. The directions are easy to follow and so easy my 5 year old could modify it to fit what she wants.

I'm going to buy a few of these to put in the closet and save for friends' birthday parties!

I love that it is something girls like and exposes them to science concepts.
