The key must be used slowly or it will not record the dots and dashes correctly. This is a problem for anyone who wants to develop speed, but for cub scouts, it works fine.
By experimenting, I found that attaching a little speaker to the line next to the buzzer (from a very annoying, used store, Elmo doll) the key and sound responds instantaneously as fast as I can press it, with dots and dashes. I am so excited. With this addition from a used doll, it works fantastically. I would now give the product a five star rating, and perhaps the company might consider offering mini speakers to add onto the kits. It's much more fun for me as a Webelos Cub leader and I'm sure when the den meets again, the boys will really be excited also.
