this is a nice toy for when the kid is just sitting up. fun to play with the blocks and the buttons/mane on the pony. good toy for when the kid is crawling... can be pushed along. makes cute music! great toy for when they are walking... can pull the toy along behind. kids love that. I love how each block teaches multiple things depending on how you put it into the pony... each block has an animal, a letter, a shape, and a common toy. so that is 4 times 4 blocks.... 16 different things to learn there. then the buttons on the pony teach things too. then there are the fun songs. just a great toy. I have a 9 month old and she loves it.

My son does play with this toy, although I wouldn't say that it is a favorite by any means. BUT --the song it sings is SO ANNOYING! Thank goodness for the off button. We've had it since he was 6 months old, and he is now 13 months, and it is very durable. I hope he'll learn to put the blocks into the groves properly soon, so he can play with the various sounds they make --otherwise, he gets pretty bored with just taking the blocks out and pulling the pony.

My 10 month old really enjoys this especially now that his fine motor is good enough for him to take out and put back the blocks. But, he really enjoyed months ago when we got it too. I removed the string, because I was a preschool teacher and saw too many kids tie themselves up with lacing strings. I would just say never leave your child alone with any string. But, my son loved when I would push it to him and then he'd push it back to me. Now, he pushes it while he crawls.
