I bought five of these drums to use in a classroom, after getting a good bargain (nearly 75% off) through Amazon. The first of them arrived today. It looks a little different than the picture the 'skin' is mostly transparent, and is made of a plastic material. (A similar model that costs a little more is made of goat's skin). I don't think it has the same resonance as a drum made from real skin, but it still works for what I need it for.
Just one note. I have seen these same models for sale for $70 through Ebay. You get a better deal through Amazon. You don't need to pay more than $25 for these.
