Although this book is geared toward and older audience, even the youngest "reader" will love it -especially if they have a dog or two (as our does). There are all different voices, some songs, fun sounds -the whole works. We have 6 Tag Jr. books and this is her favorite (but her favorite thing to do in the world is to feed our dog "puppy biscuits" -so maybe a child not as dog-friendly might not love it quite as much!). I personally like the Scout's bedtime plastic book by Leap better because there are more songs(and suprisingly, that works with the Tag system too), but she loves them both. This has a good theme of "sharing" for an older audience. The illustrations are okay -but the voices are really great. I don't get annoyed listening to it a million times. Age wise, the cookie monster one is more suited to a child of her age though. We love it though!

I would recommend that you read the book first before trying to use the Tag Reader, especially if the child is barely two years old.

Scout is a very sweet character from Vteck company. His character is familiar to toddlers due to other toys from the same company. He reads the simple short story to them via the tag.

We LOVE Scout and Violet and wish Leap Frog would make more books for them!

We bought this book not because it works with our tag reader (which it does and is great with), but because it's a Scout and Violet book! My son ADORES those dogs so much that we had to get him this book. Wish Leap Frog would market more items for the older toddler and preschoolers with these characters.

That being said, the story for the book is super cute even my 4 year old loves it. She is so worried about Scout losing all the biscuits every time we read it and becomes so happy once she sees Violet has more. Great little story.
