I just got this little pocket scope, and I have to say that for the price it is a very good scope for curious kids and adults. My main purpose for this pocket scope is to look at very small insects, fungi, and plant samples. This is so I can identify the problem/pest/pathogen/etc and then choose the correct method to remedy the situation.

And it'll do all this and more for me for just $14.25. Although it's not the highest quality, for someone who only uses it occasionally it's a great tool.

So for someone that just wants to take a peek at and insects, fungi, and plant to identify problems every once in awhile to identify a potential problem it's a perfect fit. Use standalone in the field, or use with the included stand and a microscope slide. Either way it's a fun and helpful tool to have.

It can be a little hard to focus and the LED light can flood out what your looking at with too much light, but it is truly amazing being able to see such small things. Once it's dialed in, I'd say it's not much different than what you'd see at a full lab. 8-)
