This is another simple toy for busy kids (far better than busy toys for simple kids). This is a great learning toy. It is good for both fine and gross motor skills. Lacing the letters familiarizes both pre and new readers with letter shapes in a hands on way. It helps prepare for both reading and writing skills. The pieces are also a puzzle, and each letter will only connect with the ones on either side of it. My five year old has learned to alphabetize, and my two year old will spend hours in quiet play.

Very strong letters, can be bitten, stepped on, pulled will not break! Surprisingly strong rubbery texture. We bought upper case and lower case. I would suggest for younger children introducing a few letters at a time i.e. only a,b,c and if your child easily does the puzle to add 2 or 3 more letters etc. The whole box can be overwhelming and once built I would say it's about 5.5 feet long!
