I bought this for my 21 month old boy. He loves airplanes, so immediately took to the toy. It was also pretty easy to get him to play with the shapes and insert them when prompted by the airplane. However the shape blocks are a very tight fit. Even I had trouble squeezing them into the proper holes. The blocks are also easy to lose. The airplane's recorded voice (which is pretty obnoxious) requires the child to fit the correct shape into the correct hole in the order it chooses (which seems to be randomized). So if you lose one block, or if the child can't squeeze it in, the airplane will just keep telling him over and over that he did it wrong.
The remote control drive for the airplane is essentially another toy. It works surprisingly well. Our son is learning how to distinguish between forward and backward.
All in all, not a bad value for money, but don't expect too much.My Grand-daughter just turned one and she loves it. It is easy for her to operate and it is super cute.
