Review of Copernicus - Cabinet of Peculiar Minerals
This kit has four rocks in it, and my five year old seems to really enjoy playing with them. Its not an all-the-time toy. More of a "play with it for a half our, forget about it for a few weeks, and then rediscover it for another half hour" toy. He particularly likes the pumice and growing rock, and I enjoy the TV rock and flash rocks. The only thing I would change are the cards that come with the rocks. They provide only the very briefest of information about each rock's properties. But questions like "where is this rock found in nature?" and "What are the uses of this rock sides looking cool?" go unanswered. But if your kid is really interested, I guess that is an opportunity for collaborative research with Mom and Dad.
