These color-coded letter magnets are great as a learning tool (we use them for afterschooling). With red vowels & blue consonants, my child finds it easier to recognize letter sounds, and the limited color palette (vs. traditional fridge magnets in a random rainbow of colors) makes for less confusion and over-stimulation.

The quality of these magnets is excellent. These are substantial, non-greasy & non-odorous, hard plastic magnets. I LOVE that they are subtly textured for little hands to manipulate with ease. Even the tubs they come in are built to last.

I'm always wary of plastic toys & educational materials, but I feel safe about these -safer, in fact, than I feel about our wooden (chipboard?) magnets by Melissa & Doug and Mudpuppy.

Just one suggestion for fellow parent-educators: Consider ordering more than one set so that kids can transition from letter recognition to writing short words. I ordered 2 sets, but I'm certain I'll be back for more.
